"Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded.  it is a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others.  Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity."
~Pema Chodron

Navigating the maze of life:

There is a notion of human lives having clear linear directions toward a destination, much like Google maps can lay out a list of every turn to take once you type in the name of the place you wish to reach.  It may work out that way for some people, or at least appear to.  In our own lives, the path of our living unfolds more like a maze, with multiple turning points and options to consider without knowing where they may lead. Some turns lead to dead ends, yet we are likely to make those same turns again if we forget where they’ve taken us before. Perhaps we’re just too damn stubborn and afraid to do anything other than what we know, even if we know it leads to a dead end. At other times we may benefit from the presence of someone familiar who can encourage us to step toward another direction.

If you’ve come to this turning point in the maze that is your own life, we can help you, not with directives from a position of superior wisdom by virtue of education, training or title, but with a presence of genuine human connection and encouragement as you go inward to connect with YOUR most genuine truth. While professional credentials are a way of validating our capability to provide the services you may be seeking, a more reliable credibility is that of personal learning as we’ve navigated our own roads that bring us to creating this practice as therapists, counselors, coaches. Learning by repetition in our own experience to be true to ourselves has nurtured our ability to be True to You.
